Chainlink changed hands near $11.93 on October 19, 2026, below a rising trend line, putting the $11.40 level at the centre of the next move, according to Coinpedia. A separate Blockchainreporter analysis, published the same week, put LINK at about $12.16 and emphasised a different force: the network’s own reserve, which keeps converting revenue into the token.

The two reports describe the same asset from opposite ends. Coinpedia tracked weakening short-term technicals and shrinking derivatives exposure. Blockchainreporter measured a slow structural bid on supply that it said has not yet moved the price.

Key facts

  • Coinpedia reported LINK trading around $11.93, under its ascending trend line, with $11.40 as key support and $10 as the level below that.
  • Chainlink open interest fell to $570 million from $900 million as speculative positions were closed, Coinpedia reported, citing Coinglass.
  • Blockchainreporter reported the Chainlink Reserve holds roughly 6.29 million LINK, worth near $78 million and equal to about 0.82% of a circulating supply of about 766.85 million tokens.
  • Per Blockchainreporter, the reserve added 89,200 LINK, about $1.11 million, on October 15, and about 431,900 LINK over the prior 30 days.
  • Blockchainreporter put LINK about 77% below its 2021 record of about $52.88 and its market cap near $9.32 billion.

Technicals point lower as leverage unwinds

Coinpedia described a market making lower highs and lower lows, with the relative strength index in a downtrend but still above the 30 threshold that marks oversold conditions. In that read, a break of $11.40 opens the path to $10, and $8.43 becomes the lower pivot if $10 fails. A recovery would first target $14, with $13.58 cited as a nearer objective and $16.55 as major resistance.

The derivatives picture reinforces the cautious tone. Coinpedia said open interest climbed during preceding months before retreating from the late-September rally, and read the joint fall in price and open interest as traders cutting exposure rather than adding to it.

The reserve is a slow bid, not a catalyst

Blockchainreporter described the reserve, launched in August 2025 as part of the Economics 2.0 upgrade, as a treasury funded through Payment Abstraction: customers pay in whatever asset they prefer, and Chainlink’s infrastructure converts those payments into LINK held in an Ethereum contract with a multi-day timelock. The outlet reported that Chainlink does not expect to withdraw for multiple years.

Its own arithmetic cuts against treating the programme as price support. Roughly $5.4 million of buying over 30 days is small against a $9.3 billion market cap and larger daily turnover, Blockchainreporter noted, and Chainlink has never committed to a purchase price or schedule. The outlet also pointed to Chainlink’s September launch of CCIP 2.0 for institutional cross-chain settlement as a source of future revenue flowing into the reserve.

Why it matters

For holders, the reports frame a split between what the chart shows now and what network revenue might do to supply over years. Coinpedia’s levels matter to traders managing short-term positions and stop levels; Blockchainreporter’s supply math matters to longer-term holders weighing accumulation against a token still far below its peak. Both outlets agree that the reserve alone has not offset the wider altcoin repricing through 2026.

What to watch

Coinpedia said a confirmed daily close beyond the key levels, backed by volume and open interest changes, would give the clearest signal on direction. Blockchainreporter pointed to the pace of accumulation on the reserve’s public dashboard and whether LINK can hold its recent range while altcoin sentiment improves. This is not financial advice, and crypto markets are volatile and difficult to predict.
