NEAR Protocol has retreated to its 50-day moving average around $4.28 after falling from a high near $6.00 earlier in October, and Ethereum is trading near $2,330 beneath its 100-day average while leaning on 200-day support of about $2,320, according to U.today’s Oct. 26 chart review.

The same analysis puts Chainlink on its last major floor near $11.00 and Zcash in the middle of a $1,050 to $1,370 range. Across all four assets, the report frames the day as a test of long-term trend lines rather than a break of them.

Key facts

  • NEAR trades near $4.43 after failing several times to hold above $5.00, with its 50-day average near $4.28 acting as the level buyers are defending.
  • LINK trades near $11.35, more than 25% below its late-September high of roughly $15.50, and sits on its 200-day average near $11.00.
  • ZEC trades near $1,204, below its late-September peak near $1,700 but up more than 150% from the $480 area in August.
  • ETH trades near $2,330, down roughly 17% from a September high near $2,800, with its 200-day average near $2,320 as the decisive line.

NEAR’s dip looks orderly, not a crash

NEAR’s fall follows a sharp run-up, and U.today noted that the coin remains far above the $1.80 region where it changed hands in early September, so the larger trend is still positive. The most recent candle carried a long lower shadow, a sign that some buyers stepped in at the 50-day line, though the report cautioned that a single candle is not enough to call a bottom.

Momentum has cooled in an orderly way. The relative strength index has dropped from above 80 in late September to about 48, and volume has eased since the peak, which the report reads as light selling pressure rather than a rush for the exits. Beneath the market, the 100-day average near $3.50 and the 200-day average near $2.80 are both rising and widely separated from the current price. A daily close below $4.28 would open $3.50 and then $2.80; holding it keeps $4.75, $5.00 and a possible return to $6.00 in play.

Chainlink has made lower highs and lower lows since its September peak, and the report describes it as weaker than most of the market. LINK has broken under its 50-day average near $12.30 and its 100-day average near $11.50, with the shorter averages between $12.40 and $12.70 capping every October bounce. The RSI near 35 shows weak momentum without yet reaching oversold territory. A recovery would need a move back above $11.50, then $12.00 and $12.50, with $13.00 marking a return of buyer control.

Ethereum’s 100-day average near $2,365 now caps rallies, and the 50-day average near $2,460, along with shorter averages between $2,470 and $2,540, all slope downward. The last candle touched $2,280 before recovering, which U.today read as buyers defending the 200-day line. Still, the report warned that repeated tests weaken that support, and a daily close below $2,300 would be a clear warning. If $2,320 gives way, $2,250, $2,100 and potentially $1,900 come into view; a hold opens $2,460 and then $2,550.

Why it matters

All four charts are sitting on or just below long-term averages that supported their earlier advances, which makes this a shared test of whether recent rallies were pauses or peaks. Because the declines have come on lighter volume, the moves so far look more like consolidation than forced selling. Traders holding altcoins and ether will watch whether these averages continue to hold, since simultaneous breaks would change the tone for the wider market.

What to watch

U.today frames the next few daily closes as the deciding evidence. A close back above $4.75 for NEAR, above $11.50 for LINK, above $1,300 or below $1,050 for ZEC, and above $2,460 or below $2,300 for ETH will each set the near-term direction for that asset.
