Dogecoin Labs began operations on October 21, 2026, grouping the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application layer and the Such App merchant product under a single company formed with the Dogecoin Foundation, according to Crypto.news. MyDoge and DogeOS founder Jordan Jefferson is chief executive of the new organization, which the launch materials describe as independent.
Key facts
- Dogecoin Labs owns and operates all three products, with technology, intellectual property and development staff contributed by the Dogecoin Foundation and House of Doge.
- House of Doge said it signed definitive agreements to contribute selected products, engineering and commercial operations and related assets in return for an equity stake in Labs.
- MyDoge reports more than 500,000 users; Cryptobriefing adds that the wallet reached that figure without paid user acquisition.
- DogeOS opened its public testnet, called Chikyū, on September 30, 2026, with no mainnet date supplied in the October announcements.
- Such App’s beta handles invoicing and in-person QR payments, while its DogeOS integration is listed as planned.
House of Doge swaps operations for equity
The Nasdaq-listed House of Doge disclosed the exchange in a separate announcement that also lists closing conditions, transaction completion and asset transfers as matters still carrying risk. Neither the House of Doge release nor the launch materials gave a valuation for Labs or a percentage for the new holding, Unchained reported.

The Foundation has named Labs its official commercial partner, replacing the earlier structure in which House of Doge held an exclusive commercial agreement. House of Doge keeps a relationship with the Foundation through a long-term license. Tim Stebbing moves from House of Doge’s board to Labs; Unchained identified him as a director of both the Foundation and the new organization.
The Foundation retains stewardship, advocacy, community work and support for open-source development. House of Doge CEO Marco Margiotta said the arrangement would free resources for alternative investment products and the company’s sports investments, and described the shareholder benefit as coming through House of Doge’s strategic equity stake in what Labs builds.

House of Doge said the replacement license preserves its work with 21Shares on the Nasdaq-listed Dogecoin ETF, trading as TDOG, and the 2x Long Dogecoin ETF, trading as TXXD, plus rights covering a Dogecoin exchange-traded product on Switzerland’s SIX exchange and future tokenized alternative investment products.
DogeOS testnet, and what is still unfinished
DogeOS gives developers an Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible environment for building Dogecoin applications. Its first public lineup named Barkswap’s liquidity engine, Superposition Finance’s lending protocol, the Derps perpetual exchange, Split Markets for options, USDoge as a collateralized stablecoin, and Snag for prediction-market aggregation. Games and consumer projects named at launch included Doge Escape, PlaysOut and DogeFundMe.
A separate DogeOS technical proposal seeks native zero-knowledge proof verification in Dogecoin Core under the designation OP_CHECKZKP; the September reporting said the change had not been implemented. Blockonomi noted that some planned security features remain unfinished. Jefferson told The Block at the September launch that network validation and developer work were the immediate priorities, with a mainnet timeline to follow later milestones.
DogeOS raised $6.9 million in a Polychain Capital-led round in May 2025, money that belongs to the project’s earlier development history rather than to the Labs formation.
Wallet users, merchant tools
MyDoge’s V3 update connects the consumer wallet with applications built on DogeOS, giving developers a route to holders who already have DOGE. Such App covers the merchant side; Blockonomi reported that it was developed by House of Doge and Brag House, a detail the other reports did not carry.
House of Doge outlined the payment app in January, describing a self-custodial wallet and a proposed Hustles feature that would let service providers, artists and contractors list work and accept DOGE directly. Development started in March 2025 with a 20-person Melbourne team using open-source Foundation technology. Cryptobriefing reported that Such App had been slated for a first-half 2026 launch.
Why it matters
Dogecoin has long had a large holder base and a thin set of places to spend it. Consolidating wallet, app layer and merchant tooling under one commercial entity gives the Foundation a partner that can ship products while it keeps open-source and community work. For builders, the EVM-compatible route lowers the cost of entry but puts DogeOS in a crowded field of environments competing for the same developers. Blockonomi placed the launch against a weaker stretch for Dogecoin investment products, noting that Bitwise ended trading in its Dogecoin ETF on October 14 after weak demand; it also cited analyst estimates that whales added about 600 million DOGE between October 12 and 16.
What to watch
The clearest signals are whether DogeOS sets a mainnet date, whether the OP_CHECKZKP proposal advances in Dogecoin Core, and when merchants gain access to DogeOS applications through Such App, which Labs has not scheduled. Completion of the House of Doge asset transfers, subject to the closing conditions it disclosed, is the other item to track.
