Binance to Block Transactions With 11 Crypto Platforms, Including HTX, Starting Aug. 23

Binance compliance restrictions on crypto platforms effective August 23, 2026

Binance will stop processing transactions with 11 crypto platforms, including HTX, EXMO, and Rapira, starting August 23, 2026, as part of an expanded compliance push tied to recent regulatory actions across multiple jurisdictions. The exchange announced the move on August 14, building on earlier restrictions imposed this month against Shelbit, Aban Tether Exchange, and several Africa-focused platforms.

The affected platforms are HTX, EXMO, Rapira, Aifory Pro, ABCeX, WhiteBird, NoOnecrypto, Tradex, Monease, BitPapa, and Exnode. Binance said users should avoid sending funds directly or indirectly through these platforms after the effective date. Any transactions attempted after that point may be held for compliance reviews and additional verification, and affected wallets could face temporary restrictions while investigations are ongoing.

Compliance Timeline: From August 7 to August 23

The latest action follows a series of compliance measures Binance introduced during August. On August 7, the exchange restricted transactions with Shelbit and Aban Tether Exchange after those platforms were targeted by U.S. authorities. On August 13, Binance added A7 Nigeria, A7 Africa, and PilotFinance Ltd to its restricted list.

The August 23 deadline now extends that list to 16 total platforms in less than three weeks. Binance stated that transactions involving the newly listed entities may violate its Terms of Use under certain circumstances, and that the restrictions reflect evolving regulatory obligations rather than operational issues involving customer assets.

HTX Under International Sanctions Spotlight

HTX, formerly known as Huobi, has been under intensifying regulatory scrutiny. The platform appeared in the European Union’s latest sanctions package targeting entities linked to Russia-related activities, which introduced transaction restrictions against several crypto platforms and financial service providers. Additionally, British authorities designated Huobi Global earlier this year under sanctions connected to alleged Russian support activities. UK regulators later clarified that HTX falls within those restrictions due to ownership-related considerations.

Other platforms on Binance’s list, including Shelbit and Aban Tether Exchange, have also been named in recent U.S. enforcement actions. The pattern points to a broader trend of international regulators coordinating on crypto-related sanctions, with exchanges like Binance acting as gatekeepers to enforce compliance.

What This Means for Crypto Users

For traders and businesses, the practical impact is immediate: any funds sent to or received from the listed platforms after August 23 could be frozen or delayed during compliance reviews. Binance’s move also signals that the exchange is prioritizing regulatory alignment over maintaining access to certain platforms, a stance that may become more common across major exchanges as global oversight tightens.

The restrictions do not affect Binance’s core trading services, but users who interact with any of the 11 platforms should plan alternative transaction routes before the deadline. Binance has not indicated how long the restrictions will remain in place, but similar measures in the past have often persisted until the underlying regulatory issues are resolved.

This development follows a year of heightened regulatory activity in the crypto sector, including the SEC’s ongoing rulemaking efforts and the CLARITY Act’s stalled progress in Congress. As authorities continue to expand sanctions and compliance requirements, exchanges are likely to keep refining their restricted lists, making it essential for users to stay informed about their counterparties’ status.
