On her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth’s birthday, Miley Cyrus is releasing her first solo song in two years. Coincidence? Fans don’t believe it.
It didn’t take long for some fans to realize why that particular date stood out to them: Hemsworth, who was married to Cyrus from 2018 to 2020, was actually born on that day 33 years prior.
The 30-year-old pop artist said that her upcoming period would begin with the release of her new single “Flowers” on January 13, which is next Friday, during her NBC New Year’s Eve special over the weekend.
The lyrics from “Flowers,” which Cyrus has already revealed in teaser videos on her YouTube account, raise even more eyebrows. In one of the videos, she sings the line, “I can love me better than you can.”
On Liam’s birthday, Miley tells the world she can love herself more. Before mentioning one of Cyrus’ Hannah Montana-era songs, “I Got Nerve,” another admirer was quoted. When she mentioned she has nerve, she most certainly did not lie.
While acting alongside Hemsworth in The Last Song in 2009, the “Wrecking Ball” singer first began dating the actor. They spent several years dating intermittently, even getting engaged in 2012 before breaking up. By 2016, the couple had resumed their relationship, and by the end of 2018, they had tied the knot.
But eight months later, Cyrus and the actor had permanently broken up. In a statement, Hemsworth wished Cyrus “health and happiness,” and shortly after their divorce was officially finalized in 2020, Cyrus wrote, “I adore Liam and always will.”
Due to the unspecified illness afflicting lead singer Steven Tyler, Aerosmith postponed the final two performances of their “Aerosmith: Duces Are Wild” residency in Las Vegas on Thursday morning.
The band stated on Instagram that Steven would have to miss the gigs scheduled for tonight and Sunday due to medical advice.
