Paramount and Top Gun: Maverick Capped As Highest Earning Movies of 2022

According to reports, Top Gun: Maverick made more money than any other film released in theatres in 2022; paramount was unable to take the top spot at the American box office due to the film’s total of USD 719 million.
According to data from Comscore, the action film starring Tom Cruise was a box office smash, grossing USD 719 million in ticket sales across the United States and Canada. This was the most money made by any released firm.
Additionally, it is responsible for more than half of Paramount’s total earnings from domestic operations for the year.
Comscore reported that other releases, such as Scream, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the Lost City, and Smile, pushed Paramount to make the movie of the year and collected around USD 1.3 billion, which makes them the third highest grossing movie for studios.
In domestic ticket receipts collected last year, Maverick represented around 10% of the total USD 7.5 billion. Compared to 2019, the domestic total was down around 34% before the pandemic.
Disney ultimately earned the 2022 box office crown, whereas the Top Gun sequel crowned the charts as the higher-earning movie of the year.
At the domestic box office, 20th Century Studios accorded around USD 2 billion. Movies such as James Cameron’s “Avatar: The Way of Water and several Marvel Studios pictures has pulled the box office handsomely.
Of all box office revenue, Disney films represented nearly 27%of revenue. Once pandemic restrictions were lifted, Franchise films were the heaviest draw for cinemas.
According to the reports movies like “Minions: The Rise of Gru and Jurassic World: Dominion were its biggest ticket sellers made Universal the second-highest market share which accounts for 22% of box office receipts in 2022.
