The Wasp: Quantumania and Ant-Man gets the Rocky Start: Report

As per the studio estimates, Disney and Marvel Studios’ the Wasp: Quantumania and Ant-Man has beaten up all expectations and scored by far the biggest opening of an expected USD 104 million at the domestic box office.
As per sources, Quantumania has faced a great setback in China, with recorded earnings of USD 19.2 million. Meanwhile, the movie lived up to the expectations in North America and recorded overall earnings of USD 120 million from 4325 theatres.
At the international box office, the film added USD 121 million and brought its global tally to USD 225 million.
Meanwhile, Quantumania, starring Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp, Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, has got a fresh rating of 48% to the movie on Rotten Tomatoes. As per sources, after “Eternals”, this makes it the second MCU film to rank as rotten.
Senior media analyst at Comscore, Paul Dergarabedian, said we all know the aura of the Marvel brand and that the excitement it brings to drive moviegoers to the multiplex is undeniable.
He further added that the ongoing Marvel saga, the Wasp: Quantumania and Ant-Man, would inject fans to jumpstart their enthusiasm for this new-era film.
According to data from EntTelligence, the movie is likely to push more than seven million fans to theatres for a solid summer movie season.
As per studio estimates¸ around 28% of ticket purchasers picked superior format theatres, paying an average of USD 4.29 more per ticket.
The entertainment industry, which was suffered significantly during the pandemic, is now showing great signs of recovering due to the higher foot traffic, higher ticket spending, and growing eagerness among the fans, said Paul Dergarabedian.
