Vaughn is returning as CRO to Co-Lead Walt Disney

It has been announced that Bruce Vaughn will be returning to Disney in the role of co-leader of Walt Disney Imagineering. This division is responsible for the design and construction of the company’s theme parks and attractions.

Alongside Barbara Bouza, who serves as president of Walt Disney Imagineering, Vaughn will reprise his role as a chief creative officer and lead the division. Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro, will serve as the two individuals’ immediate superior.

Once employed at Disney for more than two decades, the longtime executive served as a co-leader of Walt Disney Imagineering for nine years and held the position of chief creative executive throughout that time.

In 2016, he handed in his resignation from the company in order to take over chief executive officer a chief compliance officer of Dreamscape Immersive, a startup that develops location-based virtual reality experiences.

In 2021, he became Vice President of experimental creative product at Airbnb, where he was responsible for leading a team that was tasked with the design of immersive experiences and stays for Airbnb customers.

Vaughn said he is delighted to join reunite and Barbara with this impressive global team of innovators and creators during this pivotal time.

With so many tremendous opportunities ahead and exciting projects under way, the Bouza is dedicated to deliver next-level experiences and fuel creativity, and he is looking forward to partner with Bruce.

D’Amaro wrote a message to Disney employees announcing Vaughn’s return, in which he praised Bob Iger’s focus on creativity and the chance for Bouza and Vaughn to collaborate on major initiatives under way and ore on the horizon.

The two will collaborate on the strategy to determine the most effective way to structure Imagineering.
