According to reports, Netflix is introducing Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales to its platform with updated gameplay based on Season 4 of the show. As part of the company’s ongoing push into gaming, users will be able to take on the roles of brand-new characters from Season 4.
The 2021 video game Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales was taken down from the App Store and Play Store in August after Netflix bought the publisher for $72 million. At that time, the streaming provider disclosed plans to redesign the game and bring it exclusively to Netflix.
In order to defeat opponents like Demogorgons and other supernatural monsters in this game, players must solve puzzles. They can amass up to 50 different iterations of the show’s characters during this period.
The aesthetics of the game are described by the company as being reminiscent of 1980s Saturday morning cartoons.
The game also advances Netflix’s initiatives to provide viewers with several ways to interact with the program. Earlier this year, the streaming service collaborated with Reddit to create customized avatars based on Stranger Things and with Spotify to create custom playlists.
Users can use this link to download the updated game as of right now. Other Stranger Things video games, including Stranger Things: 1984 and Stranger Things 3: The Game, are now available.
Even though the corporation is working very hard to make gaming successful, it has not had great success. A report from Apptopia that was released in August stated that there were just 1.7 million daily users of Netflix games.
The business said that it now has 223 million members at its Q3 2022 earnings.
Netflix is looking into ways to enter the cloud gaming market, according to Mike Verdu, the company’s vice president of gaming. He noted that the major streaming company, which opened its first gaming studio in Helsinki in August, is also opening a second facility in California.
In September, the business also introduced game handles that could be used with all of its exclusive games.
